15 Years of Impact
The concept is born
Frustrated by the gap between what last-mile networks could deliver and what upstream bandwidth costs allowed, the founders of Extreme Labs set out to commoditise internet speed — making it accessible to every user, no matter where.
EU R&D Lab and first prototype
An R&D lab was established in Sofia, Bulgaria, producing the first working prototype of a transparent P2P and HTTP caching engine built for ISP-scale deployment.
Deployed in India
CacheMaster went live on its first Indian ISP networks, proving that a single appliance above the NAS/BRAS could deliver massive bandwidth savings from day one.
P2P acceleration and 100K users
A new peer-to-peer acceleration mode enabled direct user-to-user sharing at gigabit speeds within the ISP’s own network, eliminating redundant upstream fetches. The platform crossed 100,000 end users.
Transparent mode and compliance
Transparent mode was added so even SSH and other sensitive protocols could pass through without issues. Full DMCA and Indian Copyright Act compliance was built in from the ground up. User base grew to 400,000.
1 million users and scalable grid
CacheMaster crossed 1 million end users. A scalable grid architecture was introduced, allowing ISPs to add nodes horizontally and manage 10 Gb/s per server without forklift upgrades.

A completely re-engineered platform launched with real-time analytics, giving ISPs deep visibility into traffic patterns, cache hit ratios, and bandwidth savings.
Asia-Pacific expansion and 5M users
CacheMaster expanded across the Asia-Pacific region, surpassing 5 million end users and processing over 150 TB of traffic daily.
